Observing the proceedings conducted in the factories Uponor Wirsbo, should:
1. prevent the sale of damaged PEX pipe and
2. ensure that all pipe sold meet the requirements of state certification, especially when it concerns the results of tests conducted by the concern Uponor Wirsbo.
In order to monitor the internal production process has become more reliable as possible, it was transferred under the control of independent testing organizations. Two or three times a year, Uponor Wirsbo plants visited by representatives of such organizations in the United States, West Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, France and Sweden. They are studying the specification, magazines and testing equipment, as well as take samples for testing in their laboratories.
Owing to the high quality and unique properties of PEX pipe (molecular shape memory, high elasticity, smooth surface, etc.), compounds Uponor Wirsbo performed without gluing, soldering, PEX radiant heating, welding, threading.

PEX pipe
Applicable fittings are made from a variety of corrosion-resistant materials and have high quality (availability of quality certificate ISO 9001).
In the technology of Uponor Wirsbo, there are three types of connections:
* A combination of mechanical screwed with crimp nuts (chuck) for PEX pipe Ø 16,20,25 mm;
* A combination of mechanical clamping (crimping clamps) type WiPEX – for PEX pipe Ø 25-10 mm;
* Connections samoobzhimnye Wirsbo Quick & Easy – used for PEX pipe Ø 16, 20, 25, 32, 40 mm.
Quality is an integral part of the tradition of Uponor Wirsbo Company since its inception in the seventeenth century. It is with such a feeling has developed an extensive system of quality assurance. Requirements for Uponor Wirsbo to yourself, are high. The company aims to be the best. At less she did not agree.
All PEX pipe Uponor Wirsbo, has markings that is repeated through each meter of length, for example:
* Uponor Wirsbo-PEX – name of the product;
* 16×2, 2 – size in mm (external diameter and wall thickness);
* DVGW – German certificate for use in drinking water systems;
* PEX-a DIN – the rule that made pipe;
* MPA-DA – permission to scan quality;
* BS 14856 – the party designation of PEX pipe;
* Xxx – footage (marked through each meter);
* 95 ° C – maximum operating temperature;
PB * 6 (RV 10) – operating pressure 6 bar (10 bar);
* Sauerstoffdicht DIN 4726 – kislorodopronitsaemost PEX pipe according to DIN 4726.
Depending on the destination, the concern Uponor Wirsbo manufactures PEX pipe of the following types:
* Uponor Wirsbo-PEX
* Uponor Wirsbo-eval PEX
* Uponor Wirsbo-pePEX
* Uponor Wirsbo Meltaway
* Uponor Wirsbo-inPEX
Pipe Uponor Wirsbo-inPEX, thanks to its exceptional hygiene, have been widely used in medicine (installation dialysis blood).
Characteristics of the pipe made of polyethylene crosslink determined mainly by quality of the used crosslinks, ie the ratio of molecular chains, coupled with each other. This ratio should be proportional. If it is too little material, most likely will not crosslink polyethylene (PEX) -limited operation at high temperatures. If it is too large, the material quickly becomes brittle.
The level of crosslinks in the PEX pipe Uponor Wirsbo-PEX should be 70-90 percent. Laboratory Uponor Wirsbo checks this level by using two different methods. The first uses a fast but very reliable mechanical method (own patent Uponor Wirsbo), while the second uses chemical analysis, based on the standards of ASTM and DIN. The second method is also used for calibration of mechanical tests.
PEX-b in the acronym PEX mean transverse intermolecular bonds. This term is used to describe the chemical bonding of molecules of PE in the three-dimensional network.
The method used by Uponor Wirsbo for crosslinks in the material for the pipeline, based on a process developed by German inventor Thomas Engel. Crosslinks, which is achieved by using this method is the basis of the remarkable properties of PEX pipe Uponor Wirsbo-PEX.
Before the production process macromolecular raw materials and additives such as stabilizers, crosslinking agents (peroxide) and the like, are subjected to comprehensive monitoring procedures. Characteristics such as melting point, homogeneity and density are determined by laboratory company Uponor Wirsbo.
Part of the raw material having satisfactory properties, is placed in a laboratory mixer. From there he was taken to test a path or a “pilot plant”, as it is sometimes called. Regular production begins only after the determination by the finished pipe, the composition of the material, as well as methods of production are correct.
To date, three types of polyethylene: LDPE, MDPE and HDPE. PEX - an acronym for polyethylene. LD, MD and HD indicate low density, medium density and high density. The division into three types implemented in accordance with such directions:
* LDPE: 56.8 – 57.8 funtov/fut3 (0.910 – 0.925 mg/m3)
* MDPE: 57.9 – 58.6 funtov/fut3 (0.926 – 0,940 mg/m3)
* HDPE: 58.7 – 60.0 funtov/fut3 (0.941 – 0.965 mg/m3)
Pipe Uponor Wirsbo-PEX manufactured from high density polymer with ultra-high molecular weight and density of about 59.3 lb / ft 3 (0.95 mg/m3). This is the crucial factor in determining the properties of the final product, since crystallinity of the polymer depends on its density.
“Crystallinity” refers to regular arrangement of molecules in the entire structure, by the force of cohesion in the material. Conversely, the random arrangement of molecules means the amorphous material.
The greater the density, the higher the degree of crystallinity and, consequently, higher strength PEX. The degree of crystallinity of the polymer, which uses group Uponor Wirsbo PEX Pipe, is 90 percent.
