| Product Description: http://www.pexuniverse.com/1-pex-tubing-500ft-587386 PEX has excellent corrosion and chemical resistance. Over time, the properties of polyethylene pipe is only getting better (the smoothness of the inner surface and an inner diameter of the pipe). Low thermal conductivity of polyethylene pipe for reducing heat loss and reduces the formation of condensation on the outer surface of PEX pipes.
Bow 1″ OxyPex tubing is PEX-b tubing with oxygen barrier and is commonly used for supply/return lines in installation of outdoor food furnaces, as well and for large radiant heating and snow melting projects. With it’s enhanced UV and chlorine resistance, Bow OxyPex tubing lasts longer and performs better than many other brands on the market. Meets/exceeds U.S. ASTM F876/877 and Canadian CSA B137.5 standards. Oxygen barrier (permeability) complies with DIN 4726 standard. Also certified for use in potable (drinking) water applications. UPC listed by IAPMO. Pressure ratings: 80 psi @ 200F, 100 psi @ 180F, 160 psi @ 73F 25 year warranty by manufacturer. Applications: 1″ PEX Tubing with Oxygen Barrier can be used for the following applications: 1. Boiler Supply and Return Lines. Replaces copper pipes when running tubing to PEX manifold stations. Commonly used in installation of outdoor wood boilers (PEX tubing is insulated, sleeved and buried below the ground freezing level). 2. Fan coil units and air to water heat exchangers. 3. Radiant heating and snow melting for large structural slab-on grade systems (commercial). Compatibility: OxyPex PEX Tubing can be installed using either Crimp type connection system (Crimp Tool, Crimp-style PEX Fittings and Copper Crimp Rings) or Clamp/Cinch type connection system (Clamp Tool, Crimp-style PEX Fittings and Stainless Steel Clamps). Also compatible with Push-Fit connection system (such as SharkBite), Viega Press type system and Compression type PEX fittings. Literature: Technical Specifications and General Installation Recommendations Bow OxyPex & SuperPex Technical Specifications and Installation Manual (pdf) 1″ PEX Tubing with Oxygen Barrier is the most popular size for installation of outdoor wood boilers. If installed for radiant heating applications, according to RPA Standard Guidelines, circuit should not exceed 750ft (500ft for snow melt systems). |
