Ball valves
What are ball valves?
A valve is generally a mechanism that can allow a flow (gas or water or any other liquid) and it also allows the closure of the liquid or gas supply. Ball valves are used in any installation today and they are indispensable to any install procedure.
There are more than just a few ways to refer to a valve, but the most common and most cheap valves are ball valves. Ball valves use a special device called a sphere. The sphere is exactly what it is called to be, a spherical disc, which is placed inside the valve. The disc is connected to the brass which can help one turn it left to right and allow some space between the walls of the brass ball valve and the disc. When the sphere is put back in place it occupies all the empty space inside the brass ball valve and the water or any other flow is cut-off.
Threaded ball valves are favored because these insure a better flow adjusting system, but also because they tend to be a lot cheaper. One of the main advantages of threaded ball valves is their hard resistance. The ball valves can be used for many years without being damaged as iron or other strong metals such as copper are being used in their manufacturing. Some of the valves incorporate a hard plastic ball. Sometimes these are the cheapest materials one can get, but also have the lowest quality. Because the ball is made out of plastic, it will give in faster than the rest of the valve and it can crack under high pressure or a large number of usages. However, these ball valves are quite strong too and if used for light pressure such as kitchen plumbing or bathroom plumbing, there should be no problem with the mechanism lasting for many years.
